Lenora Blathers, DDS
Dr. Lenora Blathers is a 1997 Honors graduate of the Howard University College of Dentistry. While at Howard, she was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including the distinguished Dean’s Award, and was inducted into the prestigious National Dental Honor Society, Omnicron Kappa Upsilon. Due to her high level of achievement, Dr. Blathers was chosen to participate in AIDS Research in Dentistry at the National Institutes of Health.
In 1996, Dr. Blathers was selected for an internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where she had a particular interest in facial trauma and oral pathology cases. She completed her Oral and Maxillofacial training at Howard University Hospital in 2001.
Dr. Blathers has been in private practice since 2001. She has extensive experience in extractions, pre-prosthetic surgery, implants, oral pathology and reconstructive surgery. She is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the Middle Atlantic Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the DC Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (DCOMFS), and the National Association of Professional Women .
Dr. Blathers hails from the great state of South Carolina, but considers herself a Washingtonian after more than 25 years in the District of Columbia and the surrounding suburbs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, going to the theater, morning walks, gardening and most importantly, spending time with her young son, a budding football player.
